WhatsApp on AWS

WhatsApp Business API on your AWS account

CampaignHQ runs WhatsApp messaging through your own AWS account using AWS End User Messaging Social. On top, you get WhatsApp campaigns, journeys and a shared team inbox, with email on SES and SMS on SNS in the same contact database.

How it works

Three steps from your AWS account to your first campaign

  1. 1

    Link your WABA in AWS

Link your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) in AWS End User Messaging Social, inside your own AWS account.

  2. 2

    Add the connection in CampaignHQ

Enter your WABA ID, the region and IAM access keys. A setup guide sits beside the form, so you can follow it step by step.

  3. 3

    Sync templates and start sending

Templates sync from your linked WABA. Template header media is stored in your own S3 bucket. Then build campaigns, journeys and chatbots.

What you get

AWS gives you the API. CampaignHQ adds the tools your team uses.

AWS End User Messaging Social is an API. It does not include a campaign builder, journeys or an inbox UI. CampaignHQ adds those on top, on the same AWS account.

Billing

WhatsApp charges sit with your AWS usage

Message charges, from AWS

AWS charges two fees for each WhatsApp message: AWS's message fee and Meta's message fee, using Meta's INR rate card. Both appear with your AWS usage.

AWS End User Messaging pricing

Your CampaignHQ plan, billed separately

CampaignHQ bills your plan on its own. WhatsApp message charges stay on your AWS account, next to the rest of your AWS usage.

One AWS account

Email, SMS and WhatsApp from one AWS account

All three channels share one contact database in CampaignHQ, so the same contact, segment and journey work across them.

  • Email

    Amazon SES

Send through your own SES, with sending reputation on your IPs.

  • SMS

    Amazon SNS

Send through your own SNS, from the same AWS account.

  • WhatsApp

    AWS End User Messaging Social

Run the WhatsApp Business API through your WABA linked in AWS.

Coming from Amazon Pinpoint

AWS ended Amazon Pinpoint support on 30 October 2026

If your campaigns ran on Pinpoint, you can rebuild them in CampaignHQ with email on your own SES, SMS on your own SNS and WhatsApp on AWS End User Messaging Social.
